Tips on Renting a Limousine for Your Sweet 15

By Miranda Sanchez

When planning a Quinceanera, it entails months of preparation, such as finding a dress, accessories, favors, invitations, photography, catering, limousine and much more. One of the most vital parts of planning is arranging for transportation. How will you get to the church and to the reception? It is highly recommended that you hire a limousine service. Not just for transportation but for elegance and comfort as well. It's your big day and you want to arrive in style!

There are several things to take into consideration when hiring a limousine service to make the most of your investment and to ensure a carefree event.

If your Quinceanera is in the spring or summer months or on a holiday it is crucial to plan early so you won't be disappointed. Spring and summer is when the limo services have the busiest schedule.

Check whether the company has a sufficient number of cars. This is important in case the vehicle you ordered has broken down and there would be other available vehicles as a replacement.

It would be in your best interest to do a background check on the company to check if they are not blacklisted. You can check with the Better Business Bureau. Also, make sure they are licensed.

Decide on what type of limousine you prefer. You have several choices like the Lincoln Limousine (long sedan), Stretch Limo (commonly known as the limo for a Hollywood style entrance) and if you have the budget, there are the exotic limousines with luxury features made by BMW, Hummer, etc. Consider your budget and the necessity when you choose the type of limousine.

Ask for images of the limousine for both the exterior and interior. And if you have time, it would be best to visit the company and view the actual limousines.

When you are ordering the limousine make your specifications fully clear. Include the number of passengers, place of event, color and size of the car you want.

Make sure the driver understands what time and location you want to be picked up, as well as the return trip.

Check the payment and cancellation procedures. Usually you have to put down a 50% deposit when you make the booking. Ask about the method of payment for the balance. If you have to cancel you might lose part of your deposit.

Ask about the minimum number of hours for rental. Some limousine services require 2-3 minimum rental.

Be prepared to fork out a 20% tip for the driver if it's not already included in the price.

Enquire what complimentary items are offered such as drinks, chocolates, etc.

Check for insurance policies and if it's covered in the price.

Have a written contract before you part with your money. Make sure everything you discussed is stated in the contract.

Discuss the driver services. Are they experienced and know the area well? Ask if the driver will wear a uniform and what personal services are included, like opening the door, etc.

Make sure you know the driver's service experience. A driver who is not well dressed and courteous does not make a luxurious limo complete.

Before signing any contract, make sure you have read all of the above carefully. - 15784
