By Sandra Pettry

Here are a few small tips when joining internet dating sites for the first time that can really help your success rate out for finding a new friend, or partner. Safety is one area that a lot of people don't look before joining site and we are going to point out just one tip for you today.

First, lets talk about some standard safety tips.

Google, Yahoo and MSN all allow you to create a free email account, and as many as you want. Take advantage of this feature to create a new account just for your only dating life. This helps to keep your private life and friends away from some of the harmful people who may be in a online dating community.

Lets face it, some people are just plan old weird. And if they get a hold of your personal email account they can do things to harm it. I personally have had a an attack from some crazy person who didn't want me to talk to anyone else but them, I wish that person did not know of my personally email account which is now lost.

Here is a sure fire way to increase your popularity with in a community and get you a ton of dates.

With so many dating sites that are out there, it is hard to know which ones to join and which sites have traffic and regular users. So here is how you over come that problem. Find a review site or a site that has a lot of dating sites listed. Join ten of them and create free profiles in all of them.

Once you have your free accounts, look around each site to see if you can tell how active the users are. If there is nothing that tells you when the last time a person was online, chances are the dating site is new and you could be wasting your time there. Move on to the next!

If the first site you join looks like a dead site, dump it and move on to the next site. If you run into a site that has a membership fee for an improved profile listing, DO NOT PAY ANYTHING until you know if the site is going to be worth it.

To increase your popularity in the internet dating world take a few minuets and create a killer, full of detail profile about yourself. Save it on your desk top some where. This way when you start making profiles you can do a simple copy and paste thing to speed up the process.

Large profiles (and be honest in them) really draw people to you. The right profile can make people connect with you before the even say hi for the first time. - 15784
