In Tucson, Flowers for Valentine's Day Is best

By George Ramos

Amongst all the possible gifts for Valentine's Day, why choose something she won't like? Maybe you don't want your gift to be seen as cheap or not well-thought of. Well, besides being tried and true for hundreds of years, flowers are beautiful and well received by 99.999999999% of women out there. In Tucson, flowers are a big deal, as there are in most places, but there's not a lot of florists or stores that have nice ones. Ordering them on the internet seems best, fastest, and cheapest.

Maybe history can guide us as to alternative flowers to get for Valentine's Day...

Roses are the most popular valentine flowers, but did you know that in Denmark, people give pressed white flowers called snowdrops? Weird, I know. Roses, especially, pink and red ones, are the favorites of lovers on the Valentines Day since these color flowers have been the symbols of love for hundreds of years. I guess the 1st thing to consider is - why not get red or pink flowers, just not roses? Lillies, Orchids, alstroemeria, iris, tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, freesias, carnations, and tuberoses are popular too. No, I didn't know what these flowers were either until I looked them up. Whatever you choose, watch out, because of the February heat in Tucson. Flowers here won't survive long if they sit exposed.

Tucson flowers are for the desert, where they belong. Check the link below for some great flower deals.

Not all of these types of flowers come in red or pink, but from what I've been hearing and seeing, geneticists have been splicing and dicing all kinds of flower species to make crazy colors and combinations, like fire and ice roses, etc. For some reason, yellow and blue seem to be this year's hottest colors, but go with what the woman in your life likes, as long as it's not black. well, actually, black flowers do exist, but the joke is that they're dead, just like your relationship will be if you send them.

If you're married or engaged, do you remember trying to figure out her ring size? Did you tie a string around her finger while she slept? Did you take her ring when she wasn't looking and quickly ran to the jeweler to size it? Well, have some creativity when choosing the type of flowers and color you want for your girl's Valentines Day Flowers. She'll appreciate it, big time.

Before you purchase your flowers, there's a couple of final things to think about. Should you get a big fancy display that costs a lot to impress her? Is she a practical person and would most like flowers in a vase that can be re-used or a mug or a basket? Will a huge bouquet fit anywhere in your apartment or house? Look at your counter space or where you think she'll put the flowers when she gets them. Choose wisely that way. Remember, the more thought you put into the flowers, the more you can explain what you thought about when you bought them and impress her, big time.
