By Melanie West, M.A.

The key to having a memorable Christmas has little to do with presents, packages, or bows. While material gifts may be quickly discarded, returned, or even re-gifted before the end of the Season, following these few simple steps will lead you to creating a truly unforgettable Holiday experience.

Make a Connection -

Get together. Connecting to others is the simplest way to revitalize the Christmas Spirit. Meet up for coffee, stroll around the neighborhood, call and check-in with those that you may not be able to see in person. Reflect on those people in your life who have supported you through the up's and down's of life. Really connecting to others during the Holiday Season rekindles the deeper joys of life. Rejuvenating the spirit and encouraging positive hope for the future.

Caring -

The true meaning of Christmas emerges when one lends a helping hand. Helping someone in need will put everything in its proper perspective. You are blessed. Your actions bless other. Rejoice in the spirit of caring and the world becomes a kinder place for all.

Contribute to a Good Cause -

Thinking outside of yourself is the key to creating a joyful Christmas. This is the time of year when thousands of people can pool together in small ways to make a BIG difference. Building an affiliation with a good cause will strengthen your resolve to make the world a better place. Warm feelings will fill your quite times well after Christmas Day.

Call Upon Traditions -

Doing the same activities grounds and restores the human spirit. Reading the same uplifting stories year after year, cooking that special dish your grandmother used to make, recalling memories from Christmas' past all keep your spirits uplifted and renew your joy for the Season.

If you are looking forward to creating a joyful Christmas, these simple keys are sure to carry you into a most memorable Holiday Season. - 15784
