Inexpensive Wedding Favors for Your Big Day

By Sophia C.

Congratulations you're getting married! You and your spouse-to-be now have so many things to plan for your dream wedding that you may not know where to begin. After picking out when, how and where you'd like to get married, you may want to try to start thinking about some things you can make or do ahead of time to help you get that much closer to your perfect day. One activity that has become very popular among couples, especially if you are on a budget, is to create unique wedding favors that go along with your chosen theme to give to your wedding guests on your big day. Here are five great ideas to make cheap (but classy) wedding favors:

Mini Frames - At most wedding receptions, it's customary to place small placards on tables to help the wedding party and guests find their appropriate seats after the ceremony. If you would like to combine this tradition with a special wedding favor, you can purchase inexpensive mini frames in various shapes, colors and finishes to place small pictures of the bride and groom inside, along with an initial or number attached to the top or back. Guests can then take them home to enjoy a mini portrait of the happy couple to enjoy for years to come.

Mini Tins If you want to leave your wedding guests with a sweet memory, then create mini candy tins filled with mints, M&M's or other little candies. The tins can include a label with your names and wedding date printed on them Find heart shapes for romantic wedding favors.

Music CD's are one of the cheapest and most memorable wedding favors to create. Choose songs that are meaningful and romantic and burn them to recordable cd's on your home computer. Then print out a white label with your names and wedding date on them, hang a ribbon through the hole and hang them on willow branches in vases on the reception tables. Guests will think of your wedding day every time they listen.

Organza Bags - These silky little bags make wonderful (and cheap) wedding favors. You can find them in all the colors of the rainbow and fill them with anything from mints and nuts to seashells or scented beads. Be as creative as you wish. Guests can take them home to enjoy or display.

Photo Magnets- Create personalized photo magnets with your wedding portrait on them, complete with your wedding date and location. If you want to, you can send them out after the wedding inside your thank you notes.

With a little creativity, you can make sure your wedding favors are as special as your love for each other, even if you are on a budget. - 15784
