Unique Wedding Invitations - What Every Bride Should Know

By Doris Clayton

If we look around, we will surely know the internet age is here. Today you will find many brides and grooms sending out email wedding invitations. This may seem to get the message out quick and efficiently as far as prices go. On the other hand, this takes a good bit of fun out of traditionally sending and receiving wedding invitations through the post office. However, you can find some interesting and unique wedding invitations today.

However, there are a lot of people who don't have a clue when it comes to what they are looking for when they want something unique for their invitations.

When most people go for unique wedding invitations I think someone else chooses them and they usually are traditional. I think the first thing anyone has to do is know their style. When you know your own personal style it's not too difficult to look around for something that matches your style.

There are different ways that your wedding invitations can be unique. Instead of thinking about what I was sending out as wedding invitations, and whether these were unique wedding invitations or not, I decided to look at it as part of my overall wedding stationary theme. This way I was able to coordinate everything including the bridal shower invitations and thank-you notes. I read somewhere that the wedding invitations are a representation of what the guests can expect from your wedding. Who would have thought?

This will put a different spin on what you want to look for and how you want to present yourself. Take time to consider the colors that you will use in your wedding theme. Perhaps, you want to make your wedding stationary in a color that compliments your entire wedding decor. For instance, it you are using the colors of lavender and peach, you may want to search for wedding stationary that features a different color to match these color choices.

Save the date magnets, are some unique wedding invitations. They work very well for reminding your wedding guests to come to the wedding because they can see it daily while mounted on their refrigerators and it helps them to remember to save the date on their calendars.

I also found that you can use a unique font style to make your invitations more interesting. I was told (and I was glad I listened) to go with an interesting font but not one that people couldn't read. That was helpful because I get overwhelmed easily. I finally decided on a blind embossed invitation so it looked like the letters would just pop out of the invitation.

It is very important to make sure that you send out your save the date cards at least six months before your wedding so that people will be able to literally save the date. This will get things rolling so people will stay interested.

If youre having a tough time deciding on your wedding invitations, you can always check stationary stores. There are many stores that deal exclusively with weddings and are experts in creating unique wedding invitations. One thing you need to remember is that in order for your wedding invitations to be unique, it need not be something extravagant, it can be simple and yet unique. - 15784
